You're invited to a special celebration on Saturday, December 6 from 10am-12pm at Calvary!

The morning will include opportunities for fun and fellowship, and will focus on faith stations where children and families explore Advent themes through visual arts and the big picture of God’s salvation plan. Together we'll create worship resources (banners and a community art piece) to be used throughout Advent in Sunday worship. Here's a sneak peek of what we'll be doing:

  • Gathering Time: starting at 10am, families are invited to gather for food, fellowship, and fun Advent mixer games in the sanctuary.
  • Advent Banners: Decorate a symbol to be attached to one of 5 Advent banners that depict the themes of Hope (star), Joy (angel), Love (heart), Peace (dove), and Christ (cross). The banners will be used in Children’s Church during Advent.
  • Cookie Decorating: Decorate and enjoy a yummy cookie in a shape depicting this year’s Advent themes.
  • Crimsons Ornaments: Decorate crimsons ornaments in white (purity) and gold (majesty). Crimsons are monograms that symbolize Christ.
  • Identity Art: Add your fingerprint to the community art project that will be displayed in the Children’s Ministry hall.
  • Closing Worship: at about 11:30, we will have a Christmas Carol Sing-a-long and hot cocoa bar in the sanctuary (candy canes, whipped cream, marshmallows, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, etc.).
  • Bringing it all Together: each household will receive an Advent Devotional booklet, along with resources for making a traditional or modern Advent wreath at home.

Friends and family members of all ages are invited to participate in the Advent Arts Celebration together. Looking forward to seeing you there!
