"The Great Mystery"/1 Corinthians 2:6-16 / Jim Rosenquist

1 – How is a "mystery" in scripture different from our contemporary usage or meaning?

2 – In verse 7, how is God's secret wisdom hidden from men? How and why is it imparted? When did God decree this secret wisdom to be made known?

3 – In verse 8, why can't contemporary men understand God's wisdom? What would they have done differently if they did understand?

4 – In verse 10, what has God revealed through his Spirit?

5 – In verse 11, How is it that the Spirit knows God's thoughts? How do we come to know God's thoughts?

6 – In verse 14, why is the unbeliever unable to accept God's wisdom?

What do we understand from this text about why and how an unbeliever comes to accept the things about God? How does this affect the way we witness? Evangelize? Pray?
